FORCERT is a Papua New
Guinean based, not for profit company that promotes sustainable
forest management through providing certification and marketing
services of forests and products for local small-scale producers and
timber yards.
FORCERT uses Forest
Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification as a management, marketing
and networking tool. It links community forest enterprises to central
timber yards, and combines the output of these yards to service
overseas markets.

FORCERT believes in a
fair and transparent independently certified forest product trade
that recognises the important role of local landowners and ensures
the different values of their forests are appreciated and maintained.
